The kettle can hold about 1.7 liters (that's about 7 cups). So it's a pretty big kettle. When the water is boiling, there's a blue light, that lights up when it's on. It takes about 5 minutes for a full kettle to boil.
This does have an automatic shutoff. So you don't have to worry about the kettle boiling dry. There's a lock feature for the top of the kettle. And the kettle has a small filter that the boiled water goes thru when you pour it.
The base can also hide the cord. There's stays that keep it hidden in place. This is really durable. It's one of the nicest electric kettles I have ever seen, or used. And the quality is excellent.
